The Age of The Mind: Open Your Mind To New Things
In 1989, the Berlin walls came crashing down, marking the end of the industrial age and ushering in the computer age: the age of the mind. Therefore, there is a need to develop the mind in order to make it in this era.
What do you feed into your mind?. Buddha said, to enjoy good health in life, bring happiness to one’s family, bring peace to all, we must first discipline and control our minds. If a man can control his mind, then he can find the way to enlightenment and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him. There is need today for men of sound mind. Men who have trained and developed their minds to think. Men who can create and do the impossible.
Open Your Mind
There is a need to open and improve your mind. Lou Holtz wrote, “virtually nothing is impossible in this world if you just put your mind to it and maintain a positive attitude”. Academic excellence is no longer the major criteria for job selection today. Series of tests have been developed to determine the mental capabilities and behavioral lifestyle. What are you doing to develop your mind today?. Earl Nightingale said, “whatever we plant in our subconscious and nourish with repetition and emotions will one day become a reality”.
In developing the mind, Mark Shead enumerated some things you can start doing today to help. They are: learn to notice, listen to music, read well-written books, learn a new language, play games in your head. Also, avoid television, meet smart people and seek out new experiences. The mind is capable of amazing things. The more you develop your mind, the more the open yourself to endless possibilities of things you can archive. Do not limit yourself and do not be afraid.
Finally, Napoleon Hills wrote, “what the mind can conceive, it can achieve”.
